Perhaps we are. American Appliance Service is a New Jersey small business that my father Walter started in 1972. Since his “retiring” in 2007 , we continue operating into our 2nd generation of a family owned business. My father and mother still do most of the answering and scheduling.
During Covid-19 we follow guidelines set forth by the CDC. We wear a mask and gloves and shoe coverings. We ask that we have easiest entry into your home closest to work area. We ask that distance is kept between both parties. We ask that you sanitize with disinfect the appliance and area before and after service. Lets stay safe! Short answer , No. This is a frequent question we are asked, Do you waive your service call or apply the service call fee if work is performed?
We do not offer a “free” , “waived” or “applied” service call charge. Here is the break down , we charge a Service Call fee to come to your home , diagnose your problem and give you a quote to repair. If you choose to not repair, or if the appliance is not able to fixed, or if the appliance is not worth fixing. Then the charge would be just the service call fee plus tax. If you would like to proceed with the quoted repair, that written itemized quote includes: the service call fee, parts total, labor total , plus applicable NJ Sales Tax.
